I always prefer doing the job from the very beginning, and my Web-resources aren`t an exception. If we are talknig about blogs - my advice to use blog engines at your own domains and dedicated hostings. Not only for those reasons posted above, but for your own pride ;)))
Respectfully, Wisp.

Hello.
Very, very interesting. I am deacuerdo in what your you say.
I prefer wordpress, but still I do not use it.

At the moment I have a blog in blogger and am happy. Especially for the related thing to cathedral.
But for a little professional mas, undoubtedly blogger.
Sorry for my bad English

Regards from Spain

You are "RIGHT ON" on the safety of hosting your own...I first started with a free wordpress blog (on wordpress dot com) and invested over 30 days of daily blog posts...to find one morning YICHS - wordpress took the site down...so NEVER again, I got my own domain and loaded up wordpress myself so that won't happen again!

I have used Blogger on a number of my blogs, based upon its simplicity to set it up and get going.

I started a new blog recently and Blogger was my first choice yet again, but this time I realised that it hust didn't have the muscle and flexibility that I needed.

I installed WordPress and migrated my Blogger all in 10 minutes - added my adsense in another 10.

I was worried about the learning curve, but needn't have.

WordPress all the way for me now.

Your informations provided is really very helpful. Reading your article, I'm also thinking to shifting from this wordpress.com to my own hosted site and using wordpress.org!

However, since it will cost an extra money, I'll be doing it only at the end of this month. Anyway, thanks for this great information!

Great insight! I completely agree with you. I've also hosted and installed wordpress in my own site, and the idea is far more better than using blogspot or other free platforms.

I agree. The biggest reasons that's what we recommend are link juice and flexibility. You're just shooting yourself in the foot by writing on another site and trying to transfer some of that notoriety and traffic through links. Save lots of steps and put a blog on your existing site!

Very impressive and interesting topic. At least it's really broaden my knowledge and to my personal opinion, i'd rather prefer using WP due to its simplicity in terms of navigation and usage.

In deciding between the two, I think the person needs to evaluate their level of wanting to learn new things and being good at self study. I chose Wordpress but I did have a large learning curve (as a non-techie) that at times I struggled with, but I'm glad I stayed with it and learned new skills at the same time.
